"Developing Web sites is a passion"

My connection to the Internet happened about 15 years ago, with a Mac plus and a 2,400kbs modem.
Back then most things where text based and so there wasn’t a problem surfing the net with a 2400 buad modem. Eventually along came the gifs and the jpegs, followed by the music, mp3’s and video's... So we had to bump up the power, faster Computers and more Bandwidth.guy_glasses

My Web development work started in 1995

I found a few sites that where teaching HTML and using the knowledge I gained from the lessons they taught, I put up web pages on Tripod & CompuServe (Free web hosting Companies back in the day...not sure if they still exist) The ISP (Internet Service Providers) offered a small amount of space for individuals to put up home pages, which I took advantage of also.

My first Job was for a company called CRS, based in Salisbury NC, they where a vending company who wanted me to design a company web site.

Over the years I have worked closely with many individuals and small businesses in the Rowan county area repairing, servicing and upgrading computers and also developing there web sites.

Rowan business forms, Medexpress, GX fitness, LVI services, Fine Frame Gallery, Benchwarmers, Madison Avenue South, Rowan Wildlife Association, The Next Step, Las Palmas, Combined Retail Services, Rowan Arts Council, Piedmont HealthCare are a few of the companies I have worked with over the years.

Having problems with an iPod?

A frozen apple logo is the only thing that appears in the menu it will reset but the only thing that reappears is the apple logo. My computer does not see it either. I have restarted with it unplugged and also plugged in. still no joy so I can’t even restore the software. Yesterday I unplugged it with out disconnecting properly. It is completely frozen I am still researching this to see what I need to do. I have a third generation 15 gig iPod latest software installed. I use my iPod in disk mode, as my iTunes music library is too big for the iPod. Will keep researching this problem and let you know how I fixed it. I tried repairing permissions on my computer. My iPod does not even show up in the disk utility. I have an ominous fear that the iPod’s hard drive is on the fritz.
I did find a way to get into test mode for the iPod here is the sequence

An Apple Intel iMac story; Cool

On Feb 14, approximately 11am I took a trip to our local Apple store to purchase a shinny new iMac. My first impressions of the apple store were not exactly what I had expected. My perception of Apples retail stores had come from all the hype and pomp we get from the news “A new Apple store in blah blah… will be opening on blah blah…” The news wires are always buzzing with excitement when a new store is opening somewhere. The openings are always made out like it’s a big to do. I can’t say that the same buzz is present when a new Dollar store is opened, if they are still opening new Dollar stores? So I guess my expectations where very high.

I wanted more personality or character to come from my experience at the store. Alas I did have to take a step backwards in my thought process and remind myself that it is still retail, not that retail is bad, as a salesperson myself, I understand we are there for an end result and that is to sell the product. But the process of selling, from my viewpoint, is to take care of the customer first and foremost. I did not receive the attention I thought I deserved ;-) boo hoo… Yet, I still walked out of the store with a shinny new iMac. Done deal! Anyway I digress. After playing with the bulk of the computers in the store I did decide on the new intel iMac Which really was my first choice walking into the store. But I still wanted to make sure I was getting the right computer.
